Perth in Western Australia is arguably the first place in Australia to have welcomed Bhutanese people, dating back to 1969 when five young gentlemen from Bhutan arrived for their higher school diploma at Hale School and Marist Brothers (now Newman College). Since then, Perth has remained a favored destination for many Bhutanese who come to study, work, and build their lives, making it their home away from home.

The Association of Bhutanese in Perth (ABPI) is a community of Bhutanese students, families, and well-wishers. Every Bhutanese arriving in Perth is warmly invited and encouraged to participate in the association, contributing as members in whatever way they can.

As we pursue our dreams and aspirations in this wonderful country, calling Perth our second home, ABPI, as an association, aims to provide the feeling of home and togetherness as a community, upholding our own traditions and cultures at the same time.
